Recently, Li Nengxi, a graduate student of our college, published the title “Highly sensitive sensors of fluid detection based on magneto-optical optical Tamm state” in the “Sensors and Actuators B: Chemical” (IF=5.401, Part 1 of the Chinese Academy of Sciences), an internationally renowned sensor journal. Li Nengxi was the first author of this article, and the tutor Tang Tingting was the corresponding author, and Chengdu University of Information Technology was the first signed unit. At the same time, Yao Jianquan, a double-employed academician of CSA at the university, was the co-author of the paper.

In this paper, a novel magneto-optical waveguide structure based on the optical Tamm state is proposed to detect the refractive index of the fluid. The distributed Bragg reflector (DBR) of this structure is alternately formed by the fluid sensing layer and the dielectric layer, thus reducing the number of DBR layers and increasing the sensitivity of the sensing. When the gas refractive index changes from 1.0000 to 1.0006, the sensitivity of the magneto-optical waveguide can reach 1224.21/RIU. At the same time, this article also designed the waveguide structure for the detection of air and NaCl solution experimental scheme, is expected to be widely used in the field of micro-measurement and biochemical sensing.

With the continuous publication of high-level papers by our postgraduate students in recent years, it indicates that our college has achieved remarkable results in scientific research and the quality of postgraduate training improved.
